As most of you know, we have a profile award system for members. Not only for completed Hop List and Award Tours (see web site) but also flight time awards for hours PIREP'd in certain category's. (Hover your mouse over the awards for thier purpose.) The current category's are:RotorcraftFloat /AmphibianLighter than Air-(L.T.A.) (Blimps/Gliders/Baloons/Trikes etc.) Your PIREP comments MUST indicate the categoy or category's for you to get credit! For each category, you should have a new award upon reaching the following hours: 10-25-100-250-500-1000-2500-5000 and 10,000 hours.Awards are calculated on Froggie Air time only - not lifetime hours.More awards may be added as needed in the future. If you have completed A Hop List, Award sets or have reached time minimums for an award and it is not on your profile please contact any administrator!Below are all of our current awards

Angie - I would like to submit an award tour that you are one of very few to have been able to complete. Nit to mention, the only female! It requires the proper use of one single aircraft (I can post on D/L page) and is not easy with real WX. I think you can guess and I hope you consider this set as it is a true test of pilotage! Only NDB's - no VOR's allowed. Only ONE plane - as will be posted if interested. Angie has completed it - I've seen the Blog - It is the ultimate award flight!
Amelia Earhart's official last flight's I have all info except arpt. substitutions but Angie has them! I can post official plan on the D/L page. Please, I ask for little here. Please consider?

Another dumb newbie question: I ask about award time for float planes & choppers. One person said it only counts when you land in water, another said the time count regardless of the surface. Who is correct? Confused.

I ask about award time for float planes & choppers. One person said it only counts when you land in water, another said the time count regardless of the surface. Who is correct? Confused. OFFICIALLY as per EAA and FAA Regulations as we emulate: "As aircraft that contain permanently affixed float devices or inflatable skids are inherently different in character and in speed and ability, (example: the C208 Caravan vs the Caravan Amphib.) as well as altitude limits, they are classified as and require different ratings to legally fly." - More information is available on our Downloads Page Click Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge That said - amphibs and floats are ALLOWED to be filed as such. The same goes for all LTA aircraft that may need to land "off-field". If an off-field landing is required, file the closest airport to your landing. So YES, any surface - not just water! Always remember to put the type in your PIREP reports comments if not a standard aircraft! We can't read minds! If not noted as per the 1st. post this thread - you will not get proper award credit!
As for "dumb question" - There is only ONE "dumb question" and that is the one you are to afraid to ask! We are here to help - anyway that we can. Any further questions please post just as you did in our HELP section of the forum. Good luck and Safe Froggie Flight's!
