I downloaded vcol_atr42_series_fs2004.zip from flightsim.com It contains full VC and many have said it's the best. It use to be payware but they made it free now. I can't get anywhere with it. Center of gravity wont change, climbs to slow. Basically It's a bitch to fly! I did most testing with the 42-600 it took 4.3 hours to fly 588nm! I'm sure I must be doing something wrong.
Can someone who has a clue please test it and tell me where I'm messing up? Here is my fsNav Profile's for the 42 & 72: [ATR-42] withoutash=0 climbspeed=170 climbfuel=310 climbrate=2000 cruisespeed=180 cruisefuel=340 cruisealtitude=23000 descentspeed=110 descentfuel=120 descentrate=1800 fuelmeasure=0 revision=3
[ATR-72] withoutash=0 climbspeed=180 climbfuel=310 climbrate=1400 cruisespeed=190 cruisefuel=340 cruisealtitude=23000 descentspeed=110 descentfuel=120 descentrate=1500 fuelmeasure=0 revision=3

Sorry Tammy, I don't have a clue. Maybe Serge or Ironhorse can help?

Hi Tammy, When we talked about in server, I suspected the Load and trim to be outside the forward limit. But it is strange that the default setting of the aircraft is outside the CG limits. if it is CG outside forward bound, u can try with lower weight or if possible move some weight backward the plane to move CG backward (but maybe not possible with only one station)
Another possible cause could be the altitude of the field. I remember you was flying at KASE that is at 7837ft(hi altitude airport). before taking off you have to tune ur Mix lever just beside the thrust level, by default it is set to max value. you have to perform following mix tuning procedure: - set thrust at 75% (and park brake on) - decrease slowly the mix lever, the rate of RPM should increase until a maximum value and decrease after - set the mix lever to slightly higher value of the value giving the max value of RPM (this should give u more performance capability to handle AC)
Hope this could help...

I agree with Serge in that I wonder also about your air/fuel mixture from that airport. Have you tried taking off from a sea level(ish) airport? Any differences?
I also notice it's been a few days since your post, have you had any luck since then? If not, would you be willing to post a link to those aircraft please? I will download them, and see what I can screw up. You know, upgrade to 6000 horsepower, 10 foot propellers, Jet assist, Twinkie power. That sort of thing. Hahahahaha!!!
