I have almost v$40,000. How much should I save before I buy my own plane? Any advice? The manual explains this in detail but I will post a short script. If as I suspect as you use the Carenado payware C-206 Stationair, the average cost is over v$300,000 but that is just the cost of the plane. You also must consider how much you can fly FSE each month to earn v$ to pay for airport tie down / hanger space, insurance, inspections, and maintenance and repair. Read the section "Aircraft Cost of Ownership". Owning an air craft is not cheap - FSE is set up just like the real world. Again, I say - read the very well done manual and you and the group can earn a lot of v$. My hope is to get pilots active so that we can build our own FBO somewhere and then buy group planes that will cost pilots nothing to fly while they can still earn many v$ for themselves and the group. The important thing is when doing flights, click "Fly for Group Froggies Pond". Everything is 50/50 copared to most groups who only pay pilots 30-40%. Flying for the group means you don't pay the fuel or mait. cost. that can bankrupt you easily! Good luck and keep flying!

I would not even think of plane ownership with less tha v$ one million! Why not try what Troy does? When he get's to a hop list destination, he looks FSE for quick v$ maker flights that return him to the hop list departure. It's a good way to relieve hop list presure, make the FSE group AND the pilot money, AND your flying anyhoot! Give that a try and fly for the group and you can file the flight time here!

I just did my 1st. two FSE flight's combined, I made v$4100 for both myself and the group! KSMF-KSCK-KSMF with a Cessna 404 Titan (great plane), nine pax each flight! The key is to fill all seats or you must pay for rhe empty seat out if pocket! Example how much can be made if done right:

Many don't understand the pay basis, You are doing great Jen and so is Ashley. Flying for the group you get at least 50% of the income. (most groups only pay 30-40%) The group pays all repairs and maintenance fees that if you fly solo would cost you! The above listed flight you posted would have cost you over v$3000 Flying for the group pays them fees and lets us build up vMoney to build a FBO and buy our own planes as not to have rental cost. Our current goal is v$5 million to get our own FBO and a plane or two. That will eliminate all rental fees and maint. for the pilot. As you stated - A full plane pays! Use a plane that suits the need. Partial cargo or passenger space is also paid by the group IF YOU FLY FOR THE GROUP! Also, our group gives a v$1,000 on sign up plus monthly bonuses based on activity! It can be complicated when starting out. Read and understand the posted manual and fly for our group "Froggie's Pond" and I promise you will be rewarded and make a good profit!
For information on joining us at FSE - PM me for info All FSE group flights are eligible to be added to you Froggie Air logs!

I have saved enough to buy a small FBO in FSE. is that useful or should I just leave the v$ in bank?

I have saved enough to buy a small FBO in FSE. is that useful or should I just leave the v$ in bank? That is up to you but consider all cost to operate it on a monthly basis as they can be very expensive. I would save a million at least and pick a location pilots will use.

Thanks for all answers. I think I go on flying diversified aircrafts , not really interested in FBO management
