The very first thing is to set up a proper connection:
For the simulator use port 23456 ONLY
For fsNav use port 23457
FS2002 and FS2004 May connect with the sims's multiplayer settings.
FSX - FSXse - And P3D users should go to this link to be able to connect.

(Sorry but other simulators are not currently supported)
(You will need to d/l & install proper small program to connect).

PLEASE, verify your ports are correct BEFORE joining the server!
The following steps will take 5 minutes.
Download fsPortTest Here - Required
FOR MORE INFORMATION READ THIS POST: www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost/
Failure to verify ports open will get you booted!
Continued login's without correct port MAY GET YOU A PERMANENT BAN!
Every router is different it seems when it comes to forwarding ports, so you must check documentation
for your particular router, look up on internet, or if needed call your friendly ISP customer service.
A good site for this is portforward.com/
Ports that MUST be forwarded & open are as follows:
UPD 23455 thru 23457 <--Note, I port these numbers as both TPC/UPD as long as UPD is tested OK your good.)
You may not ever use them all but you will see many on the servers. Good to have then open.
TPC 47624 Most routers this is already done.
UPD 6073
UPD 2300 thru 2400
TCP 80 (TPC 81 also a good idea)This is most likely already done but the test will confirm. That should be it. Now test them with the simulator OFF our you'll get an error!
You should be able to add them as port ranges, ex. UPD 2300-2400
The 6073 is stand alone
Depending on router, you may have to do the 2345#'s individually
or it may allow a range as in 23453-23459
[/b]
After porting these numbers, run the test program from: www.chocolatesoftware.com/forum/index.php?topic=737.0
The direct file is:http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost/FSPortTest_1.6.exe or use above link to our server file.
If you get any other message except "OK" next to the port number - IT IS NOT FORWARDED PROPERLY!
